Forever Bury Fun Day 2006
Forever Bury's annual fun day took place at Gigg Lane over the summer and helped to raise more money for the society, as well as raising it's profile and giving visitors an interesting insight into the running of the football club.
With only ten volunteers, the day went really well with stalls being set out, and Bury manager Chris Casper releasing the balloons for the race. Many other players were on hand to sign autographs at the event. Tours of the insides of Gigg Lane took place, including a look at the newly refurbished away changing rooms.
The updating of the changing rooms was badly needed, and was Forever Bury's summer project. A massive thank you goes to Paul Harrison at Harrison Carrolls Ltd., the builders that project managed the refurbishment.
There’s certainly much more we would like to have done but with only about 10 active volunteers there is a limit to what can be achieved. Let’s hope that Chris and the lads can keep the optimism flowing and this in turn leads to a lot more fans taking an active involvement with their club by joining us.
What next for us! Well we certainly want to do something for our lads but we don’t intend just to refurbish their room but rather build them a brand new, state of the art room. We intend to tackle the directors of the club with our plans and hope that they will commit to them. If so we can target fundraise through the coming season and involve the management and players for their ideas.
We are also continuing with our long term plans to improve all the disabled facilities at the ground and hope we can make some headway this coming season.
